Important Events Update

Markham Stouffville Hospital Foundation has been closely monitoring the developments related to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), in collaboration with our colleagues at Markham Stouffville Hospital (MSH). We’ve decided to postpone events until May 31, 2020 because your safety, health and well-being is our top priority. We believe this is the right thing to do for everyone's health and safety and we appreciate your understanding and flexibility. Given the rapidly evolving nature of COVID-19, we will continue to monitor the situation and will determine our approach with respect to re-scheduling events based on current and arising information to ensure there is no risk to our community.

Festival of Colours will be postponed to the fall of 2020, tentatively scheduled for September 12, 2020. We will continue to provide updates as we work to make alternate arrangements. Learn More

For Third Party Events organized by members and supporters of our community – we are working closely with them on their decision to postpone or cancel. The following events have been updated: Canadians of Pakistani Origin (COPO) gala scheduled on March 27 is cancelled,  A Journey with Charlie that was scheduled on April 14 is cancelled and Run for Women Unionville scheduled for April 26 is postponed for more information visit runforwomen.ca.

TELUS Business Marketing team in collaboration with TELUS Friendly Future Foundation

For a limited time, each $1 donated will result in $3.50 for MSH thanks to the generous match from TELUS.

In honour of the dedication and commitment of our frontline healthcare heroes, the TELUS Business Marketing team has collaborated with the TELUS Friendly Future Foundation to raise funds to support Covid-19 relief efforts on the frontlines. Reema Imtiaz, Director of Strategy and Planning at TELUS spearheaded this initiative and rallied her team to raise funds for Markham Stouffville Hospital where her husband works as an Emergency Department physician.

Helping Healthcare Heroes - Raising Funds While Reducing Stress

When: Saturday, May 23 2020 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Zoom

 

This is a community fundraiser for the Markham Stouffville Hospital Foundation to raise money for life-saving equipment to combat COVID-19.Join us for a fun and relaxing LIVE and interactive two-hour fundraising event of guided yoga, meditation, and art therapy for all ages

Suggested donation of $30 includes:

  • 2-hour live session for all participants in your household
  • Entry into a raffle for prizes (one entry per household)
  • Tax receipt issued by the Markham Stouffville Hospital Foundation for donations over $20.00 (registered charitable number 13064 3620 RR0001)*

We will continue to provide updates as we work to make alternate arrangements. We believe this is the right thing to do for everyone's health and safety and we appreciate your understanding and flexibility. Given the rapidly evolving nature of COVID-19, we will continue to monitor the situation and will determine our approach with respect to re-scheduling events based on current and arising information to ensure there is no risk to our community.  

We look forward to celebrating the fabulous South Asian culture with you this Fall. Held at the prestigious Hilton Toronto/Markham Suites, the South Asian Ball, will offer scintillating entertainment while raising critical funds for mental health at MSH.

Update on COVID-19 and Run for Women brought to you by the LOVE YOU by Shoppers Drug Mart™ program 

Like all Canadians, we have been closely following the rapidly evolving COVID-19 situation. Given our runs were due to start in just a few short weeks, we wanted to take this opportunity to update you on the steps we are taking to plan ahead, in order to ensure the safety of all participants. 

At this time, our plan is to host the 2020 Run for Women events, however, some events will be postponed. Specifically, our plan is as follows:

Events originally scheduled for before June 1: Although dates are not yet finalized, we are working with cities to re-schedule for later in the summer. We will notify participants once a new date is confirmed.
