Dr. Stephen McMahon, Chief of Surgery, Markham Stouffville Hospital

Dear Neighbour,

As you know, COVID-19 forced us to stop non-essential surgeries. And today we face a crushing surgery backlog. That’s why I’m writing you today with an urgent appeal. We must ramp up surgeries. Immediately.

To do this, our doctors need to replace equipment near the end of its life. Most importantly, we must buy diagnostic scopes – critical to identifying tumours and other serious diseases. Each scope costs about $25,000. And we need sixty scopes.

Will you join your neighbours and give us the tools to care for you and your loved ones?

Whatever donation you make will help buy these urgently needed scopes. Our hospital staff is doing everything possible to ensure patients can get the care they need. Please help.

P.S. Every scope will help doctors detect diseases like cancer – you’ll help us tackle the urgent backlog of surgeries with your generous gift today. Thank you in advance.
