Celebrating 35 Years of MSH

This year, Markham Stouffville Hospital Foundation is honouring a very special milestone—our hospital’s 35th anniversary!
Celebrating 35 years of caring for the communities of Markham, Stouffville, and beyond is a proud moment in our history. What started as the dream of local Stouffville philanthropist Arthur Latcham—who donated the land upon which our hospital was built—has turned into something truly extraordinary.

There’s a sense of community spirit at Oak Valley Health’s Markham Stouffville Hospital (MSH) that is special and hard to find anywhere else. Since opening our doors on March 5, 1990, we’ve grown alongside our community to become one of Ontario’s leading community hospitals serving one of Canada’s most diverse populations in one of its fastest growing regions. With 354 beds, redeveloped facilities, excellent clinical programs and leading health technology, MSH proudly provides patient care that uniquely combines the scope of a large hospital with the warm and personal touch that only a community hospital can offer. As their hospital of choice, MSH is honoured to care for the over 450,000 residents of Markham, Stouffville, Uxbridge, Richmond Hill, eastern York Region, north Durham and north Scarborough.

As we step into a new era of care together, our loyal partners continue to inspire us to dream bigger than ever before. Philanthropy elevates health care above government funding. Community investment enables MSH to grow its campus and equip its award-winning staff with leading-edge resources. It’s because of our dedicated partners that MSH is the cornerstone of our healthy community — for the past 35 years, and for many more to come.

We hope you will join us in honouring this special milestone by making a contribution towards the historic launch of  WITH MSH.
